Q: Why did I get a new check card in the mail?
A: Upon reviewing our current check card offerings and comparing those to other existing opportunities, we have decided to make a bank-wide transition of our Check Cards from Visa® to MasterCard®.
Q: When will I receive my new MasterCard check card?
A: Your card will be received on or around March 1, 2013.
Q: When can I begin using my new MasterCard check card?
A: You can activate your new MasterCard check card beginning Monday, March 11, 2013.
Q: How do I activate my new MasterCard?
A: We offer several methods for activating your card.
Beginning Monday, March 11:
- Perform a PIN-based transaction using your PIN at a retail merchant.
- Use your new card at any ATM.
- Activate using your Online Banking account.
- Activate on the Telephone Banking system by calling 1-888-201-1000.
Q: Will I be charged for the new card?
A: No, you will not be charged for the new MasterCard we sent to you.
Q: Does my new MasterCard check card have the same accounts linked to it as my Visa check card did?
Q: There were daily limits on my Visa card. Will those limits be updated to my MasterCard?
A: Yes, your daily transaction limits will be the same as before.
Q: Will my design stay the same?
A: Yes, we will continue to offer custom card designs. Some designs have been refreshed as they were redesigned with the MasterCard logo.
Q: Is there any difference between the Visa check card I had and my new MasterCard check card?
A: Your new card works the same and is accepted anywhere MasterCard is accepted. However, you will have a new card number and new expiration date.
Q: What do I need to do about the auto drafts/scheduled payments that I had set up on my Visa card?
A: Unfortunately, the bank is not able to transfer these for you. You must contact the merchant or vendor and provide your new card number and expiration date before the next scheduled payment.
Q: Why is my check card not working?
A: If it is before Monday, March 11:
1) Make sure you are using your Visa check card. Your new MasterCard will not work until 3/11/13.
2) Check your account balance using Online Banking or Telephone Banking.
3) Please contact the bank so we may investigate further by calling your local branch or Customer Care at 1 (888) 680-2655.
A: If it is on or after Monday, March 11:
1) Make sure you are using your new MasterCard. Your Visa check card will not work on 3/11/13.
2) Make sure you activated your MasterCard following the instructions on the sticker beginning 3/11/13.
3) Make sure you are using the PIN you received.
4) Check your account balance using Online Banking or Telephone Banking.
5) Please contact the bank so we may investigate further by calling your local branch or Customer Care at 1 (888) 680-2655.
Q: Will my new MasterCard work internationally?
A: Yes, you can use your card anywhere MasterCard is accepted -- 28 million locations worldwide.
Q: When will my Visa check card stop working?
A: Monday, March 11, 2013.
Q: What should I do with my old Visa check card?
A: After you’ve activated your new MasterCard check card, please cut the card into pieces, making sure to cut through the magnetic strip and the card number. We suggest you put the pieces in multiple trash receptacles.

Q: I received a new check card in the mail, but did not receive a PIN. When can I expect it?
A: You should have received your PIN a few days after your new card arrived. Please contact your local branch or our Customer Care Department at 1 (888) 680-2655.

Rewards Program Questions
Q: Will I still have access to Visa Extras?
A: Armstrong Bank will be discontinuing the Visa® Extras program, effective March 29, 2013.
Q: What will happen to my Visa Extras points?
A: You may redeem your current points for Visa® Extras rewards through March 29th by visiting the Visa® Extras website at www.visaextras.com by or calling 1-800-960-8472. All Visa® Extra points that remain unspent on your account will automatically transfer to our new Armstrong Rewards program point-for-point on March 29th. Be sure to enroll yourself in Armstrong Rewards before March 29th in order to maintain all your earned points.
Q: How do I enroll in Armstrong Rewards?
A: It is easy to enroll in Armstrong Rewards, simply visit our website at www.armstrongbank.com and click on the Armstrong Rewards link after March 11th to enroll your card(s) and continue earning points.
Q: How will I earn points on Armstrong Rewards?
A: You will earn 1 point for each dollar spent on qualifying purchases.
